Budapest's oldest confectionery — tiny, Biedermeier, worth the climb.
Budapest's oldest confectionery, open since 1827, is barely more than a Biedermeier front room up in the Castle. A handful of tables, a glass case, and the cream pastry — the krémes — that people climb the hill for.
It's tiny, so go off-peak or resign yourself to taking the pastry out to the ramparts. Honestly, with that view, that's the better plan anyway.
Only a few tables — come mid-morning, or take it to go and eat it looking over the Danube.
